10 Reasons You Should Have Sex In The Morning

1. You’re rested and ready
By the time you wake up, you are well rested and ready to go. As anyone who has ever had sex just before going to bed on a regular hectic weeknight knows, a mind-blowing orgasm isn’t likely to occur if you’re feeling tired and tense.
Arousal only happens when you’re fully relaxed and your mind is clear. At such times, you are not doing a mental run-through of the day’s meeting, traffic or the stress of work you will be facing that day.
What’s more, in the morning, you and your partner are already comfortable, warm, and conveniently right there next to each other in bed so you should take advantage and optimize that time.

2. Your hormones are running high
When you wake up after a good night rest, your hormones are running at maximum speed and very high and this is the right time for you to have sex. Another advantage is that men naturally produce more testosterone in the morning, so more often than not, he’s going to have a higher sex drive and libido early in the day.
Morning sex is an opportunity for you to capitalize on your high libido and focus of pleasuring yourselves.
3. Your brain is still in the twilight
When most people first wake up, they’re usually not on their ‘A’ game right away as it takes several minutes, at least, to emerge from a sleep state and start functioning at full throttle. This in-between period is a sexy time to get it on.
For many people, when they are in that sort of twilight sleep-wake state, their brains haven’t fully come online yet and makes the first waking moments an opportunity to engage and connect in sexual intercourse when they are not yet thinking about the 100 things they have to do that day.
So the next time you wake up and reflexively grab your phone to check your email in bed, just stop! Tune in to your partner for a couple of minutes of connection instead, before the day’s responsibilities start to consume you.
4. You’ll start the day with a smile
No matter what time of day you get busy, having an orgasm will release feel-good neurotransmitters and chemicals like oxytocin, also known as the love or cuddle hormone.
And while these happy hormones are always welcome, getting a jolt of them first thing in the morning is extra beneficial, since it helps put you in a bright mood and sets a positive tone for the rest of your day.

5. It counts as a workout
Ever wondered what a workout in the comfort of your own bed will feel like? Hear this: a single sex session can burn about 200 calories which works out the same as running 15 minutes on the treadmill or a roadwork.
So let’s do this quick sum: just schedule in a 20-minute quickie once a week and you will realise that you will successfully burn 7,500 calories in a year. Yeah, you read right; 7,500 calories a year and that is more than a 120 km run in the same year space. It is also a double bonus that your pelvic floor muscles will get a complete workout too.
6. It keeps you calm
Think of morning sex as the physical version of meditation and you will not be far from it. Researchers have found that morning sex is a natural stress-reliever and can have lasting effects on you for at least seven days. Don’t you think this is the perfect way to ditch the Monday blues and start the week off the right way?
7. Morning sex boosts your immune system
Believe this or not, morning sex boosts your immune system against common ailments like cold, flu, fever, aches and pains. If you were an unlucky victim of the cold and flu season this year, we have some excellent advice you can take on board to prepare yourself for next year.
And it is very simple. Include morning sex in your daily routine and bid bye to those little sicknesses that seem to slow you down every now and then.

8. It can make you look younger and happier
There’s only so much your skincare products and makeup can do when it comes to feeling fresh. Luckily, sex boosts our anti-aging hormone (DHEA), which works to keep us looking younger and refreshed at all times. After an orgasm, your levels of DHEA in the blood rise to five times the normal level and what better way to start your day!

9. It helps you out of a sex rut
There’s this deeply ingrained idea that sex is a nighttime activity. But in reality, the night is often the most inconvenient time to get it on, especially when partners have naturally different bedtimes and your daily schedule is so tiring and all you really want to do is get some sleep.
Having sex in the morning, then, is a novel departure that allows you to experience the action in a different way.
For some people, morning sex might be an opportunity to break a routine and so you should not let this great opportunity pass you by.

10. It’s more intimate
The few minutes we have to ourselves after first opening our eyes are special. Most people who you’re in regular contact with having no idea what you look, sound, smell and feel like first thing in the morning. It’s a rare moment to others that’s all to yourself.
Fill that moment in with another person and it becomes a shared secret privy to only you two. That’s what makes morning sex so intimate.
It’s stripped of everything – clothes, makeup, the weight of a day’s events, toothpaste, priorities – and somehow leaves you feeling fuller.
