2 brutalised as electricity workers protest casualisation, sacking (Punch)

Two members of the National Union of Electricity Employees were on Tuesday brutalised during a protest by the union against casualisation, indiscriminate sacking and drastic reduction of salaries by the management of Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited, Kainji/Jebba Hydro Power Plant.

The victims, Mr. Suleiman Mohammed and Mr. Yusuf Garba, were allegedly beaten up by senior security personnel of the company.

While Muhammed sustained injuries in his leg, Garba was hit on the forehead. Read more
