THE National Assembly will today debate the report of Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Appropriation on the 2016 Appropriation Bill before proceeding on its Easter recess.
The debate and passage would take place after weeks of buck-passing on alleged missing figures and errors in the budget estimates. With the report, the National Assembly would approve President Buhari’s Bill for an Act to authorize the issue from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation, the of N6,077,680,000,000.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, presented estimates of the 2016 Budget of N6.8 trillion before a joint session of the National Assembly.
