5 Ways to Cope With Sleep Deprivation?

 

Sleep deprivation occurs when we don’t get enough sleep to feel alert and rested. At some point in life we all experience some sort of sleep deprivation for various different reasons. Most of the time it turns out to be a very frustrating experience.

It has actually been proven that when you are sleep deprived, you often wake up feeling tired, grumpy, stressed, clumsy, or disoriented.

It is recommended that one should at least get six straight hours of sleep. So how do you cope with sleep deprivation?

  1. Exercise

Working out is a good idea. You may find that physical activity boosts your energy. Try yoga or light jogging or even stretching if you are too tired to do more.

  1. Drink coffee and water

It’s important to stay hydrated as well as caffeinated, especially if you are breastfeeding. After all, your body needs fuel to keep going despite the exhaustion.

  1. Nap

Taking a 20-minute afternoon snooze once a day can hugely improve how the body performs, both physically and mentally.

  1. Have a bedtime

Have a bedtime and stick to it. Avoid the temptation to stay up until midnight. It is important to Leave work, television and mobile electronics out of the bedroom, especially at night.

  1. Eat well

Eating healthy, clean, green meals is not only great for your weight, skin, and hair, it’s incredible for your energy levels. If you’re on the go, grab healthy snacks like nuts, fruit, or yogurt to keep your calories down and your energy up. And to prevent insomnia, try your best to avoid eating late at night before bed, no matter how healthy the snack.
