A 35-year-old trader, who dealt in textile at the popular Kantin Kwari Textile Market, identified simply as Alhaji Usman, was shot dead on Friday by three masked men.
Usman was killed at about 8pm at Jaen, in the Gwale Local Government area of the Kano metropolis.
An eyewitness, Mubarak Nuhu, told PUNCH Metro in Kano on Sunday that the victim was in company with his wife, who was nursing a two-year-old baby boy when the masked gunmen shot him thrice at a close range.
It was gathered that after Usman was shot, the gunmen hastily drove away from the scene in aVolkswagen Golf, while Usman’s wife fled the scene. It was further learnt that the area was hurriedly deserted following the shooting.
The witness said, ‘’The incident happened on Friday. The man had parked by the roadside and was walking towards a grocery store, adjacent to his home. “No sooner had he parked his car than three masked gunmen surrounded his car and shot him thrice in the face.” Read more
