5 soldiers killed by Boko Haram in Borno

It was a very sad day for troops fighting the war on insurgency in North East when on Sunday, 5 soldiers were killed along with 3 vigilante members and one Civilian JTF member while 19 soldiers sustained gunshot and other injuries during an ambush by the terrorists.

In another operation which took place at Pulka, troops of Operation Lafiya Dole on patrol from Bama to Pulka, intercepted suspected Boko Haram terrorists drugs and other logistics suppliers  from Firgi and Zawan axis, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, at a suspected terrorists crossing point, trying to cross into Sambisa forest on Sunday afternoon.

Confirming the developments in separate statements, Acting Director, Army Public Relations said, “Operation Lafiya Dole troops carrying out clearance operations on suspected Boko Haram terrorist hideouts in Talala and Ajigin, southern part of Borno State, were ambushed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists at Ugundiri village, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State, while returning to base after clearance operations yesterday (Sunday). Read more
