Five teenagers from London aged between 15 and 19 have been charged with terror offences after being arrested earlier this week by the Metropolitan police.
A statement from Scotland Yard on Friday night said: “The arrests relate to plans to travel to join a proscribed organisation.”
Scotland Yard said the male youths will appear at Westminster magistrates court on Saturday with one of the boys, a 15-year-old from Waltham Forest, charged with collection of information and two counts of dissemination of terrorist publications.
A 16-year-old from Lambeth has been charged with preparation of terrorist acts while a 17-year-old from Hounslow faces the same charge, as well as dissemination of terrorist publications. Read more
