ARSENAL want Juventus boss Max Allegri to take over if Arsene Wenger decides to leave at the end of the season.
But he has faced a huge fans backlash in recent seasons, and has been heavily criticised this term after his side all but dropped out of the title race after a string of poor performances.
Arsenal‘s board have already drawn up a shortlist of managers who could take over from him, including Dortmund‘s Thomas Tuchel and Atletico Madrid‘s Diego Simeone. They also like Monaco’s Leonardo Jardim who has had a stunning season so far with the Ligue 1 side. But it is understood Allegri is their top target, and should Wenger not commit to an extension, he is the man they want to become the new Gunners chief.
The Italian coach is also thought to be interested in a move to the Premier League, as he looks for a new challenge in Europe. Read more
