The police in Lagos have arrested four suspects for allegedly killing a former councillor, Nurudeen Sanni, in the Epe area of the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects – Tosin Olabisi (19), Sherif Agbomeji (20), Jimoh Ibrahim (19), Rasaki Ayinde (41), Rasheed Odumade (19) – had gone on a robbery operation on Musiliu Muritala Street, Poka, Epe, sometime in December 2016.
The men were said to be operating around 12am when the victim, who was not aware they were in a group, attempted to foil the operation.
The 41-year-old was said to have been shot in the head.
The robbers were said to have stolen some valuables in his apartment before fleeing the scene. Our correspondent gathered that a few days after the operation, a member of the group, Olabisi, went to a neighbouring community to burgle a house. A police source said the suspect, after successfully breaking into the house and packing some clothes, mistakenly locked himself inside. Read more
