The police said on Monday that they would arrest two Imo State commissioners and four government functionaries who had been issued arrest warrants by the Federal High Court sitting in Owerri.
Justice Lewis Allagoa, had on march 14, issued an order to the Inspector-General of Police and Imo State Commissioner of Police to arrest the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Josephine Udorji; and the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, Nwaogu Chidiebere.
Some others include the Manager, Owerri Capital Development Authority, Emeka Duru; Head of Department, Works, Government House, Chibuzu Iwuagwu; and an official of the Ministry of Works and Transport, C. E. Egbuka.
While ordering the police to produce the persons before him on May 2, 2017, the judge said that the affected persons refused to appear before the court to clarify the issue of the disobedience of the order of the court to stop the demolition of the property of a former Minister of Interior, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, until the determination of the matter.
