Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade, on Thursday, ordered all political appointees to start wearing clothes made by the Calabar Garment Factory.
The first batch of clothing from the factory has hit the market with the production of blazers, jeans trousers and shirts.
The governor, who spoke shortly after being presented with some samples of finished products from the factory, including uniforms of some paramilitary outfits, said he was determined to boost its patronage and make the factory economically viable.
Ayade said that as from June 2017, he would not be wearing clothes not made from the factory, adding that ‘the garment factory today is a reality and it’s now producing in commercial quantities for export too’. Read more
