Residents at the Abule-Egba axis of Lagos state as a raging inferno has touched a lot of properties following the illegal vandalization of some oil pipelines by some vandals.
It was garnered that the fire started around 3:30 am on Wednesday, December 19 with the explosion from the affected pipelines extending to Abule-Egba Bus Stop.
Some witnesses confirmed that the explosion has affected a lot of properties and cars while some called the relevant authorities as the fire was noticed to be spreading wide.
However, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA’s) response unit in an early morning tweet on Wednesday, December 19, said the explosion occurred due to bunkering activities in the area.
According to LASEMA, the fire was triggered by the bunkering activities contact with an ignitable source.

On arrival at the incident scene, the spillage from what appears to be bunkering activities came in contact with an ignitable source.
The impact resulted in inferno as it ravaged houses and cars.
