African governments have agreed to set aside the sum of $700m for the acquisition of vaccines.

They made the pledge on Thursday at the World Economic Forum for Africa, which is holding in Abuja.

The amount, according to them, will be made available between 2016 and 2020.

The leaders also pledged to prioritise sustainable immunisation programmes as part of continued investment in the healthy future of children and families in their countries.
