Again, Buhari Commends Jonathan

President Muhammadu Buhari has again commended former President Goodluck Jonathan for accepting the outcome of the 2015 presidential election which he (Buhari) won. Buhari spoke while hosting some entertainers of the Northern Nigerian extraction, Kannywood, to a dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday evening. The president who spoke in the Hausa language said he would continue to hold Jonathan in high esteem because of that decision. The President said, “I will continue to hold former President Jonathan in high esteem as a result of that singular act. “He (Jonathan) was in power as deputy governor, Governor (Bayelsa), Vice-President and President, all for about 10 years and he voluntarily accepted defeat and surrendered power to me.”

IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu Spotted In Jerusalem

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has been spotted in Jerusalem in a video circulating online. The pro-Biafra separatist group leader, clad in white cloth and a cap was seen praying at the wailing wall in the Holy City. Radio Biafra had earlier confirmed in a tweet signed by Uche Mefor, the deputy leader of IPOB, that Kanu would be broadcast live on Facebook praying in Jersualem. “The Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of #Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu would within an hour from now praying in Jerusalem Live on facebook. All are enjoined to hook on. Chukwu Okike is in charge!,” the tweet said.

EFCC Quizzes Abia Finance Commissioner, 4 Ministry Officials Over Alleged Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced investigation into alleged financial misappropriation involving at least five officials of the Ministry of Finance in Abia. The state’s Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi, made the disclosure on Friday in Umuahia during a joint news briefing with the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Obinna Oriaku, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Enyinnaya Appolos, and Dr. Moses Orji, a media aide to the governor. The commissioner said that the anti-graft probe was prompted by a petition from a commissioner in the state Civil Service Commission, Mr Guy Okite.

Dr Young Nkpah, the President, National Youth Council of Ogoni, has called for robust capacity development for Ogoni youths as part of the environmental clean-up programme in the area. British former deputy prime minister Nick Clegg, a leading anti-Brexit advocate, said on Friday he would be starting a job at Facebook, as the US giant faces up to regulatory pressures. “I am delighted to be joining Facebook.
