Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo has been announced as the special musical guest who will perform at the Etisalat Prize for Literature Award ceremony on Sunday, March 15, 2015.
The 57-year-old Angeliquo Kidjo who recently won her second Grammy for Best World Album for her 13-track album Eve, will be straddling the stage Senegalese singer Youssou N’Dour played upon in 2014.
Winners of the Etisalat Prize full length book and the online flash fiction categories would be awarded during the ceremony. On the shortlist for the book award are Chinelo Okparanta’s Happiness Like Water, Nadia Davids’ Imperfect Blessing and Songeziwe Mahlangu’s Penumbra.
Why is Etisalat enamoured of Francaphone musicians? Sunday will tell.
