Sen. Iyabo Anisulowo, former Minister of State for Education, has alleged that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshimhole, are behind the crisis that has engulfed the state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC ) over the gubernatorial primary.
Anisulowo, specifically alleged that the vice president is backing Dapo Abiodun and foisting his candidacy on the party because of their friendship which, according to her, has thrown the party into disarray in the last few weeks.
She, however, declared that she would not work for any APC governorship candidate who emerges from Ogun East.
Anisulowo also threatened to engage in what she termed a ‘spiritual warfare’ with any Ogun West person supporting Abiodun for governor.
Anisulowo, who represented Ogun West in the Senate between 2003 and 2007, made these allegation, on Wednesday, while speaking with newsmen, in Ilaro, Ogun State.
Her allegation came after a day the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to call the APC National Chairman to order over the conduct of the state governorship primary.
The former gubernatorial aspirant under the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), noted that Osinbajo, though from Ogun State, has been playing his politics in Lagos and querried his sudden interest in Ogun politics.
She added she learnt from good authority that the election committee for the primary deliberately delayed the exercise to favour the vice president’s favourite candidate.
Anisulowo, however, flayed Oshiomhole for kicking against consensus, noting he(Oshiomhole) emerged as the national chairman of APC through consensus.
She appealed to leaders of the party and well-meaning Nigerians to help call Oshiomhole to order before his action truncates peace and tranquility atmosphere in the state.
