The acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena, confirmed this in a statement signed by him on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

Her late husband, Sen. Chuba Okadigbo represented Anambra North in the 7th National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he was the President.
Okadigbo was a running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2003 on the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) but died as a result on inhaling tear gas during a rally in Kano State.
