Army nabs cattle rustlers

As part of the fight against cattle rustling in the North West the Nigerian Army has said that its troops had killed 10 armed bandits, arrested 64 suspects and recovered herds of cattle, sheep and goats totalling 7,119 at various spots within North West states in its operations.

This was contained in a statement signed by spokesperson, 1 Division of Nigerian Army, Colonel Usman Abdul, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Kaduna on Thursday.

According to Colonel Abdul, the Army made the arrests in its ongoing Operation Restore Peace tasked with clearing of Boko Haram terrorist sleeper cells, armed bandits and cattle/cow rustlers from Kamuku/Kuyanbana forest areas within the 1 Division’s Area of Responsibility, AOR which covers states of North West and part of North Central like Niger and Kogi States.
