The Nigerian senior women football team, Super Falcons, on Tuesday, beat the Lionesses of Cameroon 4-2 on penalties to qualify for the final of the 2018 African Women Nations Cup in Ghana.
This win means the Falcons qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France next year.
The semi-final match ended in a goalless draw at the end of regulation time and extra time with penalties needed to determine who the victor will be.
The Falcons will face South Africa who defeated Mali 2-0 in the second semi-final match.
Onome Ebi, Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala and Ngozi all converted their penalty kicks while Rivers Angels goalkeeper, Tochukwu saved two penalties to ensure the Nigerian side took the day.
