Day old baby stolen from Kaduna hospital (DailyTrust)

A day old baby boy was on Wednesday stolen by an unknown woman at Yusuf Dantsoho hospital in Tudun-wada, Kaduna. NDDC steps up job creation programmes (Nation)

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) says it has concluded plans to develop training programmes that will fast-track job creation in the region. A 60-year-old man, Inusa Aliyu, and his daughter, Jamila, have been arraigned in a Masaka Upper Area Court, Nasarawa State, for allegedly arranging fake marriage and in the process defrauding one Yusuf Mamuda. West Africa’s rice production at risk, says study (Nation)

A study has warned that the dry-season irrigated rice in West Africa’s Sahel region has reached the critical threshold of 37 degrees Celcius – the tipping point. It added that further temperature rise could devastate rice yields in the region due to decreasing photosynthesis at high temperatures.
