BET Africa, (channel 129 on DSTV) was launched officially in April 2015. BET Africa will be airing locally produced content, kicking off with Top Actor Africa, BET Buzz and BET Experience.

channel is also introducing a new Saturday night urban movie slot showing such classics as Black Chocolate Nutcracker, Let The Church Say Amen and Eddie Murphy’s Best Defence.
Other interesting pieces of content airing from November will include the 2015 edition of The Soul Train Awards, a 2-part documentary about South African designer David Tlale, reality series The New Atlanta, and classic comedy sitcoms The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, My Wife and Kids, and

The entertainment channel will also hosting BET Experience for the first time in South Africa, Grammy award winner, songwriter, musician and record producer, Raphael Saadiq will join R&B sensation Maxwell to headline the event, which will be showcasing food, fashion, music, comedy, sport and lifestyle. Saadiq who will be appearing for the first time ever in Africa, will perform during the gala concert at the BET Experience Africa.
