The dreaded Boko Haram has carried out its threat of executing Ms. Hauwa Leman, an aid worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who was abducted in March 2018, alongside her colleague, Saifura Khorsa, by a faction of the sect, the Islamic State of West African Province.
According to reports, the 24-year-old Hauwa Leman was executed this afternoon a few days after the sect had warned that she was due to be killed following the execution of Khorsa, who was killed on September 16 alongside a nurse working for the United Nations Children and Education Fund (UNICEF), Alice Loksha.
The killing of Leman comes after the expiration of the deadline given to the Federal Government by the terrorist organization while vowing to keep had vowed to kill her together with Leah Sharibu, one of the students abducted from a Dapchi school in February who is still being held by the group.
However, the terror group had had a change of heart and vowed to keep Leah as ‘a slave for life’.
Earlier today, the ICRC has called on the Nigerian government’s intervention to save Leman from the Boko Haram sect following the 24-hour deadline they gave.
