Bomb explodes at Yola police station

Several policemen have been reported as casualties after a recovered bomb exploded from the store used by the police command to warehouse exhibits at the Jimeta Divisional police headquarters in Yola, Adamawa State.

Commissioner of police in Adamawa, Mohammed Gazali, said the incident was caused by bombs recovered from Boko Haram insurgents.

The blast which happened around midday also affected the walls of a nearby primary school, injuring some pupils.

Sani Dati, spokesman of the Adamawa state emergency agency, confirmed the incident saying that “policemen were mostly affected and we don’t know the actual casualties for now as the place is not yet safe for us to go in.”
