The Special Assistant to the Senate President on New Media, Mr. Olu Onemola, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of not being committed towards the successful conduct of the 2019 general elections. Onemola, in a release issued in Abuja on Sunday against the backdrop of allegation by Buhari Media Organisation that Saraki was slowing down the approval of the 2019 election budget approval, said President Buhari was desperate to frustrate the conduct of the 2019 polls by denying the nation the enabling law to conduct the elections. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of perpetrating violence and snatching of electoral materials during Saturday’s suspended by-election for Port Harcourt Constituency 3 in the Rivers State House of Assembly. NUJ reacts to demolition of Yinka Ayefele’s Music House

The Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Sunday condemned the demolition of Yinka Ayefele’s Music House which houses his Fresh FM 105.9 radio station. A statement jointly signed by the council’s chairman, Adewunmi Faniran, and the secretary, Mr Bola Ogunlayi, said it was highly disturbed that the building was demolished when the matter was before a court of competent jurisdiction. Unpaid salaries: Ekiti LG workers begin strike Aug 23 (Nation)

Apparently angered by Governor Ayodele Fayose’s alleged lukewarm attitude towards the payment of arrears of their salaries, local government workers in Ekiti State are proceeding on an indefinite strike. Saraki blows hot, fires back at Buhari media organisation 

Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Sunday reacted to a statement credited to Buhari’s Media Organisation, were the later cautioned and urged him to reconvene the Senate to attend to urgent national issues. The organisation accused Saraki of postponing the resumption of the Senate, despite the ongoing issue in the country, especially the INEC budget and approval for foreign loans tied to several critical infrastructures.
