Buhari to pay Boko Haram victims 5bn

The Federal Government is yet to redeem its pledge of N5 billion to the Victims Support Fund (VSF) set up a year ago by former President Goodluck Jonathan to provide succour for victims of the atrocities of Boko Haram terrorists.

Chairman of the VSF Committee, retired General Theophilus Danjuma, disclosed this on Friday, July 31, 2015, at the State House, Abuja when he briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the activities of the Fund. Accompanied by other members of the committee, Danjuma told State House correspondents after the meeting that over N50 billion was pledged by government, corporate bodies and individuals  at the launch of the VSF last year, although only N23 billion has so far been redeemed.
