Rev. Chris Okotie, the General Overseer of the Household of God Church has disclosed that he will run for the 2019 Presidential elections and that he will surely unseat incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
Okotie who has been a regular face in the race on the platform of his party, Fresh Democratic Party (FDP), made this declaration on Monday, October 1, 2018, during a service to commemorate Nigeria’s 58th Independence Day at his church in Lagos.
Okotie, calling on other called on other political parties to adopt him as a consensus candidate in the 2019 election, said he has a divine mandate to lead Nigeria and that if the parties jointly adopt him, he will definitely emerge the winner.
During the sermon, Okotie said:
“I want to re-affirm my call for an interim government and to ask those that are concerned, who are the political actors, to consider me as a consensus candidate.
I have referred to myself as a consensus remedial facilitator because of the existential threats that we have now and I think that it’s time for us to lay aside the habiliments of our political affiliations and to embrace a new nationalistic philosophy that can salvage this country at this time.”
