Davido, real name David Adeleke has come under scrutiny with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for his participation in the 2018 Osun state governorship election where he campaigned for his uncle, the Governor-aspirant Senator Ademola Adeleke. Due to his support of his uncle’s political party, PDP, he might receive a 90 days’ extension for neglecting the rules.
According to the revised NYSC bye-laws, section 4, a Corps member ought not to participate in partisan politics otherwise they’ll face the consequences.
The section also stipulates that any member who takes part in partisan politics is liable to extension of service for a period not less than three (3) months without pay which is automatically 90 days. Davido was on his US tour prior to his involvement with the political campaign.
