DPR seals NNPC station, 2 fuel pumps (NewTelegraph)

Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) yesterday sealed up a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) affiliate filling station at Apomu, near Ifo in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The monitoring team of the agency led by the Operations Controller, Abeokuta Field Office, Muinat Bello-Zagi, sealed the station over alleged safety lapses.
The team also shut down a fuel pump belonging to an independent marketer, De Champion Filling Station, located at Papalanto area of the state for alleged under-dispensing.
The operation also resulted in the fuel pump of a major marketer in Owode Ijako, Forte Oil, being sealed up.
The sanctions were meted out to the petrol stations during a routine check on dispensing measures in terms of quality, quantity and safety standard carried out by DPR.
It was learnt that the agency kicked off inspection of filling stations on Tuesday amidst emerging fuel scarcity in parts of the country.
Speaking on why the NNPC station was sealed, Bello-Zagi explained that there was sale of alcohol and cohabitation with a bar. Read more
