Leonard Ellerbe says that Floyd Mayweather will become just the third athlete to pass one billion dollars in career earnings with his Conor McGregor payday.
Floyd Mayweather has been on top of boxing for well over a decade, cashing checks that other fighters (and athletes) can only dream of. Since he bought himself out of his Top Rank contract in 2006 and decided to promote himself, he has consistently lived up to his “Money” nickname. He topped Forbes’ “World’s Highest Paid Athletes” list three times in the last six years – 2012 (85 million), 2014 (105 million), and 2015 (300 million).
So it should come as no surprise that he will pass the billion dollar mark in career earnings with his paycheck from the huge fight with UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor on August 26th. Read more
