The gunmen, who abducted four pupils, teacher and Vice-Principal of Lagos Junior Model College, Igbonla, Epe, have contacted their families to demand ransoms.
The family members, however, refused to state the amounts demanded by the abductors, saying they had been warned by the kidnappers against doing so. Our correspondent learnt that local vigilance group members have also started combing the bushes in the Igbonla area to find the victims.
A top police source on Friday said that the gunmen were believed to still be within the town and that all possible waterways of escape had been blocked by the navy and the police.
