‘Evritin about Buhari, I believe say Atiku beta pass Buhari times two’ – Obasanjo (Video)

The war of words between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari is taking a new dimension. The former believes the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar is the better man.

Obasanjo made the assertion in an interview he granted the BBC Pidgin service where he said that Atiku is better than Buhari in every aspect.

In the interview, Obasanjo insinuated that Buhari’s government accommodates corrupt politicians who defect to the APC while the government has been waging a war on perceived opponents in the name of fighting corruption.

Obj, as Obasanjo is fondly called, also insisted that even ‘if you steal the whole of Nigeria, once you join APC, you’re safe’ when asked what his perception of the ruling party is.

“Now you can steal the whole of Nigeria, and if you belong to the APC you are safe. But you can steal N10 and criticize Buhari and his government, even when you stole that N10 15 years ago, they will come and say look you stole N10, you have seen that,” he said in the interview.

This is not the first time Obasanjo has bombed President Buhari in the past few days. It started when he held a press conference on Sunday, January 20. He said that Buhari is not fit to rule Nigeria while throwing his full weight behind his former Vice President.

He had also compared the Buhari administration to the dark days of Gen. Sani Abacha, the late head of state and maximum dictator:

“Today, as in the days of Abacha, Nigerians must rise up and do what they did in the time of Abacha. Churches and Mosques prayed. International community stood by us Nigerians.”

He did not end there as he once again granted an interview to BBC Yoruba and said:

“Buhari is sick in the spirit, body, and soul. Let’s beg him to go and rest. He has tried his best. Let give chance to another person.

When people ask me what if the next person is not suitable, I tell them that is the beauty of democracy.”
