An ex-player of the female national team, the Super Falcons, Ajuma Ottache is deceased.
The ex-footballer was a member of the technical set-up of the U-17 women’s national team also known as the Flamingoes that failed to qualify for this year’s FIFA U-17 women’s world cup.
Ottache battled with a rare muscular disease which led to her demise on November 10.
Her achievements include a gold medal at the Africa Women’s championship in South Africa. She also represented Nigeria at the Olympics in the soccer event in Athens 2004 and the All Africa Games in Abuja.
Until her death, Ottache coached Goodland Rangers FC in the Nationwide league and had the CAF B and UEFA badge B coaching licences and a diploma from the National Institute of Sports.
She was the only female coach in the Nationwide league.
