Fake Peter Obi Takes a Swipe at Buhari on Twitter
An impostor posing as the former governor of Anambra State Peter Obi has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari shortly after his Twitter account was created. The person behind the handle @Peter__Obi was quick to point that social media was not “his thing” in order to sound genuine. “I have decided to join twitter since it expands the possibilities of engagement. I hope to receive a warm welcome. Together we will #Atikulate and get Nigeria working again,” the impostor tweeted.
APC Deserves Re-Election — Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday in Abuja, insisted the All Progressive Congress deserved re-election in 2019, in view of the achievements of the APC-led Federal Government. Buhari then advised religious leaders and traditional rulers to encourage their adherents and subjects to read every political party’s manifesto carefully and vote wisely in the 2019 general elections. Speaking at the Interfaith Conference on Religious Harmony in Nigeria, organised by the Interfaith Initiative for Peace, the President urged religious leaders to desist from partisan politics in order not to lose their value in the society.
Bisi Fayemi Visits Fayose at Govt. House Ahead Of Inauguration
Members of the Inauguration Committee/Transition Committee set up by Ekiti State Governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Saturday paid a working visit to the Government House. The visit was aimed at ensuring the success of the October 16 inauguration and comfort of eminent personalities that will grace the occasion.
Led by the wife of the governor-elect, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the committee was received by outgoing Governor Ayo Fayose. Fayose, who received the team, restated his readiness to cooperate with the incoming administration.

2019: PDP Denies Rift In Choice Of Obi
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has denied the existence of a rift within its ranks over the choice of former Anambra state governor, Mr. Peter Obi as running mate of its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 general elections. Obi, a two-time governor of Anambra was on Friday picked by the former Vice President after a closed door meeting at the Abuja residence of the latter. However, there have been unconfirmed reports particularly in online tabloids of some governors elected on the platform of the party as well as key stakeholders claiming they were not consulted before the decision was made.
Police Declare Dino Melaye Wanted In Kogi, Abuja
Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi West District in the National Assembly, has been declared wanted by the Kogi State Police Command. Officers were deployed to his home in Aiyetoro-Gbede, Kogi on Friday to effect his arrest, but didn’t meet the Senator at home. Melaye has also been requested by the Police in Abuja to report at its headquarters for questioning, following his involvement in a protest by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja on October 5, 2018.
World Food Day: FG Restates Commitment To Zero Hunger
The Federal Government has restated its commitment to zero food hunger by the year 2030 if the present tempo of agricultural activities are sustained in the country. Speaking at a symposium to mark the 2018 World Food Day in Abuja with the title, “Our Actions are Our Future: A Zero Hunger World by 2030 is Possible,” in Abuja at the weekend, Minister of State, Agriculture and Rural Development Senator Heineken Lokpobiri pledged the commitment that, “In the next 12 years, Nigeria will join the League of Nations who would be able to feed the world.”
Davido, His Girlfriend Visit Atiku
Popular singer, Davido, his girlfriend, Chioma Avril Rowland, visited the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. He shared a photo on his Twitter handle @davido on Saturday and wrote, “Thank you for having us sir! @atiku”. Davido was actively involved in the political campaign of his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who contested for the governorship seat in the last Osun State election. Adeleke contested on the platform of the PDP. He lost the election to Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

NEPZA Steps In To Reconcile Samsung, LADOL
THE Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority, NEPZA, has set up a committee to investigate alleged breach of Nigerian laws and lack of respect shown to Nigerian government officials, by SHI-MCI. The move is targeted at resolving the conflict between the Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base, LADOL and its local content partner Samsung Heavy Industries, SHI. Also, NEPZA has directed LADOL to immediately renew the operating license of SHI-MCI Free Zone Enterprise.
Why Claim Khashoggi’s Apple Watch Recorded Alleged Murder Is Unlikely
Experts have dismissed claims that a recording of the alleged killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi may have been transmitted using his Apple Watch. The Turkish newspaper Sabah reported Saturday morning that Khashoggi turned on the recording function of his Apple Watch before walking into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, and that audio clips of his “interrogation, torture and killing were audio recorded and sent to both his phone and to iCloud.” CNN could not independently verify the Sabah report and was seeking comment from both Saudi and Turkish officials. Saudi Arabia firmly denies any involvement in Khashoggi’s disappearance and says he left the consulate that afternoon.

Released US Pastor Andrew Brunson To Meet With Trump In Oval Office
Recently released American pastor Andrew Brunson will join President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Saturday, the President tweeted, adding there was “NO DEAL made with Turkey” for his release. Brunson had been held in Turkey since 2016, accused of helping to plot a coup attempt against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. US officials say Brunson was wrongfully detained. Brunson is expected to arrive at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, DC, at around noon Saturday.
