Moses Benched As Chelsea Won Against Crystal Palace At Home
Former Super Eagles player, Victor Moses, was once again benched by Chelsea boss, Mauricio Sarri in the Blues 3-1 win against Crystal Palace at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Moses has featured sparingly under the Italian making just two Premier League appearances for the West London club this season, both as a substitute.
Uzoho Concedes 5 Goals In Elche’s Horror Display
Nigerian shot stopper Francis Uzoho conceded five goals while in goal for his club, Elche against Cadiz who completed a stunning 5-1 victory in Sunday’s Spanish Segunda league clash.
Sory Kaba had shot the visitors, Elche into the lead in the ninth minute but goals from Roberto Correa, Dejan Lekic, Jose Mari (pen.), Salva Sanchez, and Manuel Vallejo handed Uzoho’s team their fourth defeat of the season.
Elche is now 14th with 14 points from 12 games while Cadiz who recorded a remarkable win are 13th in the table but with a superior goal difference to Uzoho’s team.
Success Starts In Watford’s 1-0 Loss To Newcastle
The Hornets spurned a host of openings in the first half, with Gerard Deulofeu being most culpable of profligacy as he missed two clear chances while Isaac Success also missed an opportunity to grab a goal on his third Premier League start of the season.
Ayoze Perez made sure Gracia’s men paid for their profligacy with a headed winner after 65 minutes which gave the hosts a first league victory of the season.
Omeruo Stars In Leganes Draw Against Atletico Madrid
Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, starred in his Spanish club, Leganes earn a share of spoils against title hopefuls Atletico Madrid in their La Liga clash on Saturday.
Guido Carrillo’s netted a late equaliser for the hosts to cancel out Antoine Griezmann’s goal, a 30-yard free-kick which curled straight into the net.
Iwobi Had Assist in Arsenal’s Draw Against Liverpool
Alex Iwobi came off the bench in the second half for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and teed up Alexandre Lacazette for the Gunners equalising goal eight minutes from the end.
The draw helped preserves Arsenal’s 14 games unbeaten run in all competitions after a difficult start to the campaign which saw them fell to back-to-back defeats against Manchester and Chelsea.
Onyekuru Featured In Galatasaray’s Draw Against Fenerbache
Galatasaray forward Henry Onyekuru is thrilled at the support he and his teammates received in Friday’s Turkish Super Lig clash against Fenerbahce at the Telekom stadium.
Onyekuru featured for 86 minutes on his return from a two weeks injury layoff in the encounter which ended 2-2.
The game is Onyekuru’s 10th appearance of the season.
