Former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Amuneke has been named the new head coach of the Tanzania National team, the Taifa Stars.
The 47-year-old former coach of the Golden Eaglets appointment was announced earlier today and his first job will be to attempt to get their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign back on track.
The 47-year-old former Barcelona star who led the Eaglets to win the 2015 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Chile, has signed a two-year deal to take over from Salum Mayanga, who was sacked over poor results.
Amuneke, a former African Footballer of the Year, will have his hands full as the East Africans are third in Group L having been held to a 1-1 home draw by Lesotho at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
However, many football followers are of the view that Amuneke is in for a tough time as he will be the fourth coach the country will hire in the past four years.
Amuneke first outing with the Taifa Stars will be a date with Uganda in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash on September 7, 2018.
