Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Could Have Jailed Buhari, Atiku, Others In 2015

A report published by The Kukah Centre, tagged ‘2015 General Elections: The Untold Story’ has revealed a few words too much about happenings that could have altered the course of history from what we currently have.

The National Peace Committee has asserted that Jonathan would have arrested, prosecuted and possibly jailed key members of the then opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC.

The report stated that Jonathan was never convinced by any person(s) to concede defeat to Buhari in 2015. He did so in his own volition following his conviction it was in the best interest of the country.

One key reason for his quick concession was pointed out in the report. It read: “A meeting with Jonathan was held at the Aso Rock Villa in the afternoon of Wednesday, March 25, 2015. At the meeting, he (Jonathan) raised some issues concerning the state of the nation, the threat of violence by the opposition (APC then) based on allegations that he (Jonathan) and his party were planning to rig the elections.

“He (Jonathan) noted that he took very seriously the threat by leading members of the opposition to form a parallel government in the event that they didn’t win the elections, but that he chose not to react to such apparent treasonable acts in the interest of peace.”

In light of this information about imminent chaos, if he won, the former president could have treated all the people involved to some measure of time in prison, but instead he chose to let peace have the way, and sustain a calm nation rather than take the expected route which may have led to a river of blood flow.

We think you'd love these too...
