Self-confidence is a characteristic that everyone can attain. Yet feeling insecure about ourselves is perhaps the most common problems of humanity.

Confident people inspire confidence in others: their audience, their peers, their bosses, their customers, and their friends. And gaining the confidence of others is one of the key ways in which a self-confident person finds success.

The things you can do to boost your self-esteem and get back on track for success. In the end, confidence is the key to success, even if that means you have to “fake it till you make it.”

Stop labeling yourself as awkward, timid or shy:  It is true there is power in words. Even worse is that we become what we think of ourselves. When you label yourself as awkward, timid or shy, you sub-consciously tell your mind to act accordingly and psychologically feel inclined to live up to those expectations. Instead of entertaining negative self-talk, visualize and affirm yourself as confident and strong.

Forget the past:  Most of the time insecurities are triggered by events of the past. It is therefore highly recommended that you forget and move on. Truth is you can never change the past. The best news is that you can completely forget about and start afresh.

Know and accept yourself for who you are: It is just simple, practice self-love. Don’t focus on your flaws. Every one has their own set of flaws. Embrace yours and never ever compare yourself to anyone. When you start comparing yourself you simply invite some negative energy which will weigh you down.

Groom yourself: There is always a thing about wearing something that you feel very comfortable in. It gives you some sense of inner beauty and trust you me, it translates on your outside. Did you know that your favorite fragrance does more than make you smell oh-so-nice? A study found that a fragrance can inspire confidence in men. Interestingly, the study also found that the more a man likes the fragrance, the more confident he might feel.

Rejection: Rejection are part and parcel of life. Whether you like it or not, you can never evade the two. They actually make life more interesting. It is always good to set some room for the possibility of rejection. Expect it in life. Once you do that, it will be much easier for you to deal with it and move on.

Do activities you enjoy:  Read a book, go for a walk, ride your bicycle or going fishing, do what you really enjoy and what makes you truly happy often. It will boost your self-esteem, soothe your ego and allow you to identify with your gifts and talents.

Socialize with the right people:  The people who you choose to surround yourself can have an incredible impact on the way you feel. That’s why it’s important to build yourself a large network of supportive friends.

Listen to good music: When it comes to a confidence booster, listening to music that has a heavy bassline is the perfect thing.

Get Things Done: Confidence is built on accomplishment. If you achieve small and big goals, you’re going to feel much better about yourself. It begins with your day-to-day goals, what do you need to accomplish this week to help meet your goal?

Don’t Care What Others Think: There are  people who will tell you, you cannot accomplish your goal. Whether is it rejection from employers, schools, or just negative feedback from friends or family, people will try to tell you your goal is too big, or that you’re not ready, or that you can’t do it, that it’s never been done before, etc., and you absolutely cannot listen to them.

Lastly, Confidence gives you the power to conquer the world.
