The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, may be the next in line to defect from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), after he complained and accused the Federal Government of failing to fulfil its campaign promises to Nigerians.
Ahmed lamented that there is so much injustice in the APC as the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has failed to address the insecurity, economic and unemployment challenges confronting the nation.
Addressing stakeholders at a town hall meeting in Ilorin, the state capital, Ahmed said he would soon leave the APC as he was no longer comfortable being in a party where efforts are being frustrated.
During the meeting, various stakeholders in the Kwara Central Senatorial District called on the governor and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to immediately dump the APC.
According to Ahmed, the APC had not met the expectations of the people of Kwara State and as such, he saw no reason to continue being a member of the party.
“We formed the APC together in 2014 with the hope to meet the needs and aspirations of the people in critical areas of our national life.
The leadership of the APC has failed to intervene in critical issues affecting the party and its members; injustice within the party is unbearable,” Ahmed said during the meeting.
