Former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika, has attributed the failure of human capital to the continued security challenges, especially in the North East.
Speaking at the 5th Edition of a Reality Show organized by Vision Africa Radio, a Private Radio station in Umuahia, Gen. Ihejirika, pointed out that for any country to develop, it must focus on human development without which it would be a disaster.
The former COAS who was the Chairman of the occasion held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium called on the public and private sectors to join hands in safeguarding the future of the youths which he said, would also help to reduce youth restiveness.
He said the competition was aimed at revealing the hidden talents of the youths, adding:
“With this competition, no youth will engage in crime.”
“This competition is a motivation particularly to the youths because it focuses on getting the youths to develop self-confidence and push them to rise above expectations.”
He congratulated the organizers of the programme and awardees, challenging them to sustain the qualities that attracted the award.
