Ikpeazu rejects proposed cattle colonies for herdsmen (Vanguard)

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has vehemently rejected the proposed “cattle colonies” being planned by the Federal Government for Fulani herdsmen and their cows, saying that Abia State cannot accommodate such colonies. The Governor warned that the strange plan of establishing “cattle colonies” in States is an invitation for “unrest and crisis that may grow beyond what we can handle when it happens” and urged that the idea be jettisoned. Governor Ikpeazu, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Enyinnaya Appolos, made it clear that Abia state will not cede any part of her territory to Fulani herdsman as colony for cattle.
