The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in a list of published governorship candidates in Imo State failed to include the name of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The names of Emeka Ihediora of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and 66 others were on the list while that of the APC was conspicuously missing.
There has been massive in-fighting amongst the ranks of the APC between Uche Nwosu, a former Chief of Staff of the state governor, Rochas Okorocha and Senator Hope Uzodinma for the ticket of the APC.
The National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole has been in the middle of the battle as Okorocha insisted on the emergence of his son-in-law as the governorship candidate for APC.
However, Oshiomhole reiterated Hope Uzodinma as the preferred candidate of the APC.
INEC’s decision to omit the name of APC candidate from the state on its list is not unconnected with the order given by the court mandating it not to publish any name for APC.
