Change over Baton 1

Yesterday, May 29 2015, Nigeria witnessed a new dawn. Power changed hands from PDP to APC with Jonathan giving way to Buhari. Governors were also sworn-in across Nigeria.

We bring you their inauguration promises and hopefully, four years from today, we will look at these promises and see how well they were fulfilled.
 President Buhari–  I belong to everybody and nobody

Abia– I’ll wear only Aba-made attires – Ikpeazu

Adamawa– I will run an open-door policy-Bindow

Akwa-Ibom– Unemployment will be a thing of the past- Emmanuel Udom

Bauchi– we are equal to the task of bringing out the state out of the woods.- Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar

Benue– Good governance and revenue security; Agricultural-Driven Industrialization; Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM)-Based Education and Health Services; Investment in critical infrastructure; and Promoting gender equality and empowering women, youth, sports, and persons with disabilities- Chief Ortom Samuel

Borno– we will be dedicated to the promotion of an ALL-INCLUSIVE GROWTH; that would focus on Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (the Three Rs).  Shettima Kashim

Cross River– We shall undertake the construction of a dual carriage super highway from Calabar through Ikom and Ogoja to the Ranch Resort in Obudu. We shall also build a state sea port. – Ben Ayade

Delta – I promise to govern our people with respect and the fear of God. – Ifeanyi Okowa

Ebonyi– I will make Ebonyi a shining example to the world- Umahi

Enugu–  I recommit myself to employment generation, enhanced social services and good governance, rural development and indeed, security and justice.-Ugwuanyi

Jigawa– I’ll focus Jigawa’s economic revival through agric devt – Badaru

Kaduna– I will revive Kaduna State and bring those who contributed to the backwardness of the State to book.- El-Rufai

Katsina– I will run an administration that would respect the rule of law.- Masari

Kebbi– My administration will bring positive changes in governess by coming out with policies aimed at repositioning the state. – Abubakar Atiku Bagudu 

Lagos– I want to assure all of you that I will make your taxes work for you. Ambode

Nasarawa– I assure you that my second term administration will be fair and offer equal opportunities to all indigenes or non-indigenes in the state. Al Makura

Niger– We will not spare effort to institutionalize transparency, accountability and inclusiveness in our government to all Nigerlites.- ALHAJI ABUBAKAR SANI BELLO

Oyo– we will make human capital development the cornerstone of our policies. We will take seriously the upgrade of schools to functional, modern models of learning., We will rededicate ourselves to a healthcare programme that is premised on qualitative health for a greater number of people. Ajimobi

Yobe–  My administration will deploy resources at its disposal to fight insurgency and rebuild all the destroyed communities so that the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) can go back to their homes and continue their normal lives.- Gaidam

Plateau– My administration will strive to reduce human suffering on the Plateau for every citizen who desires to be productive. – Lalong

Rivers– Our goal is to make Rivers State a land of peace and prosperity with boundless opportunities and possibilities – a place where no one is left behind because of his or her station and everyone who works hard can achieve his or her life’s dreams- Wike
