Katsina: INEC fixes Nov 17th as Bye Election for Vacant Reps Seat

The election to fill the Kankai/Ingawa/Kusada federal constituency Of Katsina state has been fixed for November 17th by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The seat became vacant following the emergence of the former House of Representatives member, Ahmed Kaita as the senator representing Katsina North following the death of Bukar Mustapha.

Keita won the August 12th by-election and has seen been sworn in as Senator.

Mohammad Takai, INEC’s Head of Voter Education in Katsina, who announced the election date on Wednesday, said that the electoral body had pasted the election notice in the three local governments affected.

“We are already recruiting ad hoc staff for the exercise and have met with all stakeholders toward a smooth bye-election,” he said.
