Lagos APC Primaries: State Chairman Disagrees With NWC, Says Votes Valid

The chairman of the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Tunde Balogun, says the party’s governorship primary held earlier on Tuesday (today) remains valid and that the result will soon be announced. This was minutes after the party’s National Working Committee panel, led by Mr. Clement Ebri, declared the primary null and void. Ebri at a press conference at Protea Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, said the primary could not have held because the guidelines for the conduct of the election were still being ironed out.

There are strong indications that there might be a squabble between the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu and the National Working Committee of the party over its governorship primary election in Lagos State. EFCC opposes contempt charge against Lai Mohammed

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked a Federal High Court in Lagos to dismiss a motion filed by a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman, seeking to commit the Information Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to prison for alleged contempt. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has rejected the governorship primary election conducted on Monday by the Electoral Committee constituted by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). The State Chairman of the party, Sen. Mas’ud Doguwa, declared the stand of the party while addressing newsmen in Kano on Tuesday. Doguwa described the election that was conducted by committee headed by Ezeogu Emeka-Onuaha as null and void. Chinedu Ezirim, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yagazie Foundation, an NGO, has appealed to parents to allow their children to start football from the age of five.
