The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), on Friday morning, began the demolition of faulty buildings with the Lagos Island area of the state.
This exercise comes on the heels of the collapse of a three-storey building on Wednesday at Massey Street, Ita Faaji, Lagos Island which killed about fifteen persons and injured several others.
It was garnered that the collapsed building was supposed to have been demolished several months ago before the disaster.
According to the General Manager of LASBCA, Lekan Shodeinde, about 180 houses will be demolished in the exercise.
The agency said the property owners had been served several notices dating back to 2013.
