Lagos Lawmakers Orders PSP To Work, Dares Ambode

The lawmakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly has ordered the operators of the Private Sector Partnership (PSP) in all the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas to get to their work of refuse collection and disposal with immediate effect.

The Governor of the State, Akinwunmi Ambode, had earlier terminated the operations of the PSP in the state following the introduction of a new environmental initiative, through the Visionscape Sanitation Solution Limited.

The Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, gave this directive on Thursday, on behalf of the lawmakers during plenary whilst ordering the Clerk, Azeez Sanni to invite the Commissioner of Environment, Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti to a session on the issue next week.

This followed an urgent matter of public importance raised by Gbolahan Yishawu (Eti-Osa Constituency 1) on heaps of refuse scattered all over the state.
