Lagos turned out in all their finery to wish Nnamdi Ezeigbo, Founder of leading device sales outlet Slot, a happy 50th birthday.
Flanked left and right by his wife and mother as well as children an elated Nnamdi was all smiles as friends and family members recounted the story of his life in a special commemorative birthday documentary screened at his all white party.
His mother recounted how the family survived as refugees during the Biafran war then fell on hard times after her husband died in 1993 and it took Nnamdi’s success in business to pull the family out of poverty.
Nnamdi who smiled through it all listened as old class mates spoke about his questing mind and humble beginnings in a tiny shop at No 19 Ola Ayeni street in Ikeja.
The event which had four comedians – Julius Agwu, Yaw, Funny Bone and Senator – who took turns to crack ribs with their funny jokes hit a climax when Slot Brand Ambassador and award winning musical artiste, Dbanj took the stage. Clad in all white white black boots Dbanj opened with Oloun maje before sequeing into his hit track Ogaranya, an Igbo number that got the whole audience on their feet.
Nnamdi Ezeigbo in his vote of thanks after the toast by Igwe Amaobi thanked everyone for turning up to honour him while praying that God would meet everyone at the point of their needs.
In the audience were captains of industry, bankers, OEMs, Slot partners and politicians from Mrs. Sarah Sosan former Deputy Governor of Lagos, Emeka Onwuka, former CEO of Diamond Bank, Otunba Ajiboye, Bukky and Jide George of Helathplus, Toni Kan and Peju Akande of sabinews.com and many others.
