The Lagos State Government has apologised to residents who rely on public water supplies for the discomfort and inconveniences caused by the disruption of water supply in the last few weeks. The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, in a statement said that the Lagos Water Corporation had resumed production and supply of water across the state.
He said: “The government sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding displayed by the general public.” According to him, the unrelenting efforts of the government were geared toward ensuring quality, improvement and safety of water supply for the benefit of the residents.
“Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has empowered the Lagos Water Corporation to ensure a smooth and safe discharge of its duties. “We sincerely regret the disruption and assure the general public of safe and regular potable water supply,” he said. Read more
