The lawmaker representing Irepodun/Oke-Ero/Isin/Ekiti Federal Constituency of Kwara State at the House of Representatives, Funke Adedoyin has passed on.
Fifty-four-year-old Adedoyin died of cancer complications on Friday after battling with the disease since 2016.
She had since returned home recuperating when she died in the afternoon.
Adedoyin was a former minister of Health during president Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration and the Deputy Chairperson, House of Representatives committee on Army until her death.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki also mourned the dead lawmaker
The Senate President on his Twitter account tweeted, “Hon. Funke Adedoyin was a courageous and patriotic public servant. Over the years, as a Minister and later on, as the legislator, representing Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-ero Federal Constituency, Funke always dedicated herself to the service of the Nigerian people”.
