LUIS SUAREZ WINS FIFA “GOLDEN TOOTH” AWARD  by Toni Kan’t and Ruonatu Meyerati

Luis Suarez has made history as the inaugural winner of the FIFA ‘Golden Tooth’ award.

The Uruguayan player earned the award after biting Italian player, Giorgio Chiellini in the 80th minute during a world cup encounter that ended 0-1 in favour of Uruguay.

Luis Suarez who plays for Liverpool is no stranger to baring his teeth. In 2013, Suarez was banned for 10-matches for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic. He is also alleged to have bitten another player in 2010.

With this latest bite, Suarez has chomped on 3 players on 3 continents.

 

In a post interview news conference a penitent Suarez told reporters: “I bite, I just bite. I think it’s because Mike Tyson was my hero as a child.”
